Dunedin SpeculativeFiction Writer’s Group, in association with Dunedin Public Libraries, invite local booklovers to a spell-binding event featuring the weird and wonderful world of fantasy genres.

authors: RL Stedman, Carolyn McCurdie, Debbie Howell, Daniel Stride,
Mark McCabe and Kura Carpenter read a bite-sized taster from their
novels. Plus there’s an opportunity to win FREE books on the night!
Carolyn McCurdie
is a Dunedin writer of children’s fantasy, young adult science
fiction, poetry, short stories. Her
novel The
Unquiet, published by
Longacre Press 2006, was included in the Storylines Trust’s list of
Notable Books of 2007.
Daniel Stride
is a
speculative fiction writer from Dunedin, with a fondness for
chocolate, cats, and library books. Daniel
is well-known within the blogging community as quite the Tolkien
expert and his refreshingly-original
dark fantasy novel
Wise Phuul
features zombie librarians!
Deb E
Howell is
the bestselling author of UK publisher Grimbold Ink. Her
mix of fantasy, Wild West
adventure and
romance is described as “stories
that grab you by the heart.”
She lives on a small farm in
Waitati, which she hopes one day to turn into a funpark/retreat.
Kura
Carpenter enjoys
telling lies and patting greyhounds. Her
debut urban fantasy crime
novel is set in contemporary
