About Me

Kura hard at work in the home office while Dana patiently waits for her walkWelcome, I'm Kura Carpenter a New Zealand Writer and Graphic Designer based in the small but perfectly formed coastal city of Dunedin.

New Zealand, as I'm sure you may have heard is a tiny country floating way down in the lower Pacific - next stop Antarctic! - famed for its unspoiled countryside.

I live here with my greyhound, and a few years ago a spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a vintage sewing machine sent me down a new path in learning to sew, which has seen my graphic design work venturing into fabric designs, and you can follow my progress into this field via my Spoonflower shop.

I volunteer for several different groups, including the Otago Community Hospice, the Dunedin Curtain Bank , and Images of the Past Dunedin a group of Victorian Costumers, who raise funds for books which are given to the children’s ward in the Dunedin Public Hospital.

You will also find me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.

My debut Urban Fantasy novel "The Kingfisher's Debt" described as Wellington Paranormal meets Outrageous Fortune is out now. Learn more on my AUTHOR WEBSITE KuraCarpenter.com
